So, my iPhone 5s has 7.1.2 on it but it is jailbroken. I feel like the JB might be wearing down my battery a bit so I'm considering a fresh restore to iOS 8.1.2. However, I've seen online many posts and articles about how terrible the battery is for this particular device with iOS 8.1.2, these posts are somewhat dated to early stages of release. After plenty of charge cycles, usage, and tweaking of the settings, how do you find your iPhone 5s battery is performing now with iOS 8.1.2?

tbh, I noticed a slight decrease in battery life going from 7.1.2 to 8.1, but that could just be because of the different apps I had installed. Battery life on 8.1.2 is pretty good, I tend to get about 8 hours of medium to heavy usage according to the battery stats, with about 18 hours of unplugged time. With light use, I was able to last almost 48 hours.

When I still had the 5s, on 8.1.2, the battery life was dismal. WiFi is broken in iOS 8, as everyone knows, and will eat up what juice there is pretty quick. You are better off relying on cellural data on iOS 8 on iP5s. Even still, there are random, unaccounted for battery drain sparks that occur in standby. Setting up as a new device will not help.
