Reboot to listen to voicemails?

Since I updated my iPhone 5 to iOS8 (currently 8.0.2) I've been having voicemail issues. I get the alert, I go into voicemail, and it fails to play. The play/pause button is grayed out. I have to reboot the phone.

So far today, I received two voicemails (I cannot answer my phone while on the clock at work). I had to reboot to listen to the first one, and then I had to reboot AGAIN to listen to the second one.

That is an odd one.

I would try backing up your device in iTunes, then restore it from iTunes and put your backup back on. Something sounds buggy in on your device and it could be from the upgrade.

I was hoping to put that off until 8.1 is released. Guess I know what I'm doing tonight.
