Is location services for motion calibration really needed for the M8 chip to work correctly? I would like to minimize the use of location services as much as possible.
I disabled it before leaving the house with my battery at 100% and there is no more drain. I wish Apple would give better explanations about some of the settings.
i just spent almost an hour with 2 different apple reps and official response from apple was that this location service is working as designed and supposed to be on so the new chip can gather movement metrics.
I doubt that its the true and i disabled it. I don't need the iphone to be a pedometer but i think it should resolved....
i setup my new phone 6 plus as new device, i did NOT restore old backup, I reset all settings and it didnt change the situation - if motion calibration is on it always purple (active) and GPS is active in the status bar
