Restore from iOS 8 Beta 2 backup

I backed up my data before ios 8.2 to 7.1.2 downgrade. After realising that u cannot restore from this backup, I have decided to reinstall ios 8.2. Can I use the previous backup to get my data back? I have very important data in this backup!

Yes you can restore 8.0 back up to 8.x

But not 8.x to 7.1, you are correct

Yes you can restore your iOS 8 beta 2 data to a newly upgraded iOS 8 beta 2 device.

Step 1 - Take a backup of your iOS backup, just in case, I've had some problems in the past during upgrade and restores where iTunes overwrites the existing backup file with a backup of the freshly blank restored phone. Just to be sure, take a backup of the backup.

Step 2 - Disable auto sync on your iTunes on the machine where your iOS 8 beta 2 backup exists

Step 3 - Upgrade your phone to iOS 8 Beta 2

Step 3 - Restore from the backup

Thank you all for your kind reply.

I upgraded back to iOS 8.2 and restored andthe photos and the msgs lost came back. The apps didn't. But that's no big deal. Now going to backup the pics in Mega and msgs and contacts on iCloud. and then downgrade.
