I saw a post on The Verge regarding iOS 8 and Apple's decision to not allow location based tracking.

For those that don't know, location based tracking can be used by stores to log who came into their store and when.

iOS 8 strikes an unexpected blow against location tracking | The Verge

The above article says that devices running iOS8 will effectively remain invisible to this tracking. I call this a definite positive of iOS 8 and even more reason to update your devices to that OS when the it becomes available for download.

Privacy wise, it's an interesting move, but I was expecting some other better and simple features to make their way into ios 8 than this location privacy one.

I still think it's early days yet. I agree with you and hope that as time marches inexorably towards to the iPhone 6 launch, more interesting iOS 8 details will emerge.
