IOS software update issue

Hi guys

I have an ipad air with software 7.0.6 installed
& it's jailbroken
But i want to update to the latest ios software ( 8.4) but it's not able to " check for update "
How can i update my device

I have tried to update my jailbroken iphone 5s but it completely shutdown & won't even open
I tried the DFU mode but nothing happened
So i want to update my ipad without having to go through this again

If you're using the same computer to update you've used to jailbreak - you may need to view and edit your computer's hosts file and remark out or delete entries involving apple.com - and reboot your computer and try again.
