You can't. Google no longer allows it (unless you have a paid account). You have to use the GMAIL app to get push.

Or Mailbox or evo mail. Or another mail app that can utilize gmail.

You can also set up an iCloud email account and just have your gmail forwarded to it. That's what I did and it works great. Good luck.

First off, is this Ravi Raj in Langhorne? Second, like others have posted you can't get Gmail to push through native setup. The GMAIL app is much better with folder control, notifications, etc. Or you can set up an iCloud account and forward your GMAIL seamlessly.

Or set it up as gmail and enable fetch? Not as instantaneous though.

Totally Battery Killer unless you put it on Fetch Manually which defeats the purpose.

That bad? I tried it before and it didn't seem to drain battery life any more quickly than push email...

Setup an iCloud account and have it forwarded or have it set to fetch every 15 minutes.

Well, not sure. Depends. Fetch on 15 mins was a battery killer on the iPhone 4 so that was one of reasons I stopped using the phone. Never had the 4s or 5 so could be possible they've improved the fetch/battery issues.

Glad you found a solid workaround you're happy with. I know a Ravi Raj here who recently switched from BB to iPhone and thought it would be ironic to him on the boards.

Hope you enjoy Mailbox. I am. It's really a cool app. Some find the swipe gestures gimmicky, but archiving emails after I am done with them, or sorting out unwanted ones never fails to give me that zing of satisfaction.

Can anyone tell me how to set the Mailbox app as the default when sending through other apps? All the instructions i could find point to a "Default App" tab in settings, but that doesn't show up as an option for me. Thank you
