Messages go to other devices

Since updating to ios7 whenever a couple of my contacts send me a txt message on their iPhones the txt goes to Messages on my iPad which means I don't get the message until I get home. How can I stop this?

Do you have both devices set up to the same account? If so, toggle iMessages on and off on both devices. That should put them back in sync. If you have iMessages disabled on your phone then you would need to disable on your iPad as well which would make your friends iMessages show up as a text provided they are indeed texting you and not just messaging you from a chat client.

Thanks, that's worked, messages now coming in on both phone and iPad
