Default ios 7 calendar problems on iphone

I just downloaded ios7 on my Iphone 4 and Ipad 2. The first thing I checked was the Calendar. On my Iphone I can no longer see my appts when I go to Month (view). All I see is the month displayed with dots to indicate I have something scheduled. When I go to Week (view) even in landscape mode I can only see 3 days in a row and only 6 hours displayed of each day. On my Ipad the view is the same as ios6 which is the way I want it. This creates a lot of extra work when you want to see what your calendar looks like for the week and for the month at one quick glance. Any thoughts?

Perhaps a 3rd Party calendar app might be more to your liking... look around in the AppStore.

I think the way Calendar looks and acts is my biggest complaint with the iOS 7. iOS6 will remain on my iPad as long as it can because so many of the native apps work so much better. I've tried many 3rd party calendar apps and always went back to the native app. Not now. Time to try to find one that is as close to the iOS6 version.

Interesting they kept the ios6 look on the ipad but changed the look for the iphone. I'm upgrading to a 5S but I don't think that will make the difference.

Default ios 7 calendar problems on iphone

My problem seems to be that events from my calendar don't show up in the notification center persistently like on iOS 6. As an example today is my pay day. On 6, there would have been a reminder that pay day is tomorrow and today there'd be an item showing all day.

I can not figure out how to replicate what I had on 6 with 7 in that regard...

all day events have been removed with the iOS 7 update. It will no longer show in 'today' to remind of it tomorrow. But if you scroll down to the bottom in the Today tab, you'll see it says that you'll have an all day event scheduled for tomorrow. (minus the details about the all day event).

I miss this feature now too on ios 7 as I used all days events to show in the noti center a day before, like on ios6 did. Like others have suggested, write in to Apple about. I will be this week when I get the chance to !

    Hello There,
Wonder if anybody has the same problem. I enter an appointment in my calendar, it stays for a few seconds and then disappear! Some of my appointments do stay in the calendar but most don't!!! I tried to enter one 3 times in a row and it keeps disappearing.
Not sure I like IOS 7, much less intuitive I found and quite a few problems. If anybody has a solution, please share. Thanks.

Having the same problem with calendar items disappearing after entering. Also if I delete an entry it immediately shows up again no matter how many times I delete it. Turned off iCloud and the problem goes away so it appears to be a syncing issue with iCloud. This is a very big deal for anyone like me who relies on the calendar app professionally (or personally too of course).
    Are others having this problem?

Ally (from iMore) told me via Twitter yesterday to hit the magnifying glass.... this should show your list/agenda view.

Thanks about the hour glass...I was missing the lists feature. I also lost all phone numbers for any contacts that I had entered directly into the phone. Cannot restore the backup due to lack of space.

I don't think the real problem is the calendar itself. It functions in the app itself quite well, including the old list view I always liked. The problem is the notification center. All I want is a line list of my appointments. One maybe two lines each. Todays and tomorrows, let me choose what calendars to put there. Let me see what is going on today and coming up. Just knowing that I have an event tomorrow just makes me go through another process to see what the heck it is. And what is with all the "white" space in the day view. Tell me what I have to do, I think im smart enough to understand that if my only appoiontment is at 6pm, that I don't have any during the day. It's pretty useless for me to see each hour when its just blank. If I need to discuss availability with someone, i'm going to want to be in my app anyway so i can schedule it.

Give me a couple switches, one to enable line list mode in notificatins, one to include all day events in my notification view.

    Apple PLEASE fix this!

The calendar in iOS 7 is HORRIBLE! Such a pain in the *** to click through days to figure out when you have events going on now compared to iOS 6. Love everything about 7 except the calendar.

I believe we are in the same boat. I really like the notification center on ios7.
However, I am very interested to know if any iMore listener has experienced either or both of the following.
    1) The native calendar only allows a small list of colored dots. Since ios6 several of the dots would not stay in the color in which I saved them. This us also replicated by the Fantastical app.
    2) The notification center is not updating the calendar and has been showing an incorrect date. I would like to see this updated by Apple.
    Thank you for reading.

From any view in the calendar simply tap on the search icon (magnifying glass) to see a complete list of past, current, and future events. Then tap on Done to return to the previous view.

I don't like the calendar interface either. It is inaccurate in that it displays a coloured block rather than actual numbers. I've already made one mistake and showed up 2 hours early for an appointment. It is somehow more difficult to schedule than os6. If you are not careful a slight sideways swipe and you are on another day altogether. And I can't see activities for the whole month... just grey dots. The daily calendar is the worst... I can only see a few hours at a time and the day starts at 12am. Not much use to me since there is nothing I ever schedule for 12am to say... 5am. The numbers and lines are very faint so more difficult to see. If you are looking at the vertical calendar, although the current day is displayed in red, other day/dates are displayed in black... well, the red draws my attention and again, there is lots of room for error since I somehow don't see the black display so easily. There are more problems than this, but I can't remember all of them since I no longer have the old calendar to compare... the old one was the most brilliant thing on the phone and I used it and relied on it every day. This new one I don't feel like I can trust. I have had the new os7 for about a week and wish I could get the old one back. I see people have complained that the old one looked like a granny phone, etc. I couldn't care less what it looks like... I'm far more concerned with the function. It could look like it came from dinosaur times for all I care... I just want it to work for me... this one doesn't. I bought a paper and cardboard daytimer and starting in January will go back to that... I know that is reliable, easy to read and ultra easy to manipulate. I don't have eye sight problems, and I'm not awkward with the technology. It's just that this calendar is a disaster and makes my iphone much less useful to me.

lack of visibility--ridiculously minimalist. Hate the red color which diminishes contrast needed to read the text. Squishes together 2 or 3 all day calendar items so they are really hard to to distinguish and causes me to more readily forget important all day reminders. Apple, lose the red lettering!! Graphic design principles show Black letters are easier to read. Calendar purpose is messaging: reminding me what I have agreed/planned to do. Therefore principles of messaging should be used rather than a design so minimalist it's unusable.
