Battery Issue

It started Wednesday night. I have an iPhone 4 and some apps came through with updates so I did that. Ever since then my battery will only last about 4 hours without zero use. Yesterday I upgraded to iOS 7 hoping this would solve the problem but it hasn't. Yesterday I took my phone fully charged off the charger at 11 pm and went to bed. This morning at 7 when I woke up the battery was at 24%. Any suggestions?

Go through each and every setting and app option, and make sure they are to your liking. If that doesn't help, back up your device and restore as new.

If I restore it as new does that mean I will lose all of the pictures and contacts on the phone? I apologize for my ignorance.
