Texting myself?

With mine and my fiances phones, everytime we text each other, we also texts ourselves. Why? Also, how do we stop it from doing that?

Are you sharing an apple ID? If so, un-check it in iMessage settings for one or both of you.

On both devices - go to Settings>> Messages>> Send&Receive - review any common addresses and select only the one(s) you want to use for iMessage.

Oh right, it could be any shared address. Forgot about that. I think I had to do something similar, in addition to un-checking my apple id,when I first got my iphone, since my wife and I are using the same apple id.
