Saw this online earlier tonight; it looks like the new beta includes a timestamps option; show them by swiping right to left (not my screenshot by the way, sorry for the language):

This is what I really like. Individual timestamps.

Swipe left and hold your finger. They don't stay put though. As soon as you release your finger, they go hidden again. I personally would prefer them to be always in view.

I like the current implementation as it doesn't take up screen space which should be dedicated to message bubbles.

Nice! I actually like the swipe implementation. Sort of a middle ground for those that do and don't want them.

I will give iOS 7 a thumbs up, because on iOS 6 when in iMessage. It was annoying that it will only list random times... Not sure if that was when iMessage was started?

This has been pretty much forever on iOS. Displays only random times.
Whenever I would jailbreak, I would install the fix to display all timestamps.

correct but my point is what was iMessage doing, as they were random? What triggered that time stamp in iOS6?

Was it the last time a message was sent or was it the last time iMessage had only received a message?

Oh. The formula to that, I don't know.

Ya I think it has to do with elapsed time between the 2 messages, if it's more than XX minutes, it re-inserts the time.... But we have moved over to iOS 7 so it's in the past lol

Love this. Now all I need is quick reply (and maybe quick compose), and I think I could live without a jailbreak and not think twice about it.

Better late than never I guess. Surprised it took the "most advanced mobiled operating system" quite so long

You know, I feel like Apple takes its sweet little time in getting us features we truly love because it takes the "we'll tell you what you want and when you want it" approach. Dah well.

I really like this feature. I always hated not having the time for messages. Maybe it was my OCD but this is a welcome addition.
