    Default AirDrop and AirPlay

    Are they shedding the "same wi-fi network" crap requirement for AirDrop and AirPlay? And does this double for Maverick? I missed the Mac portion of the presentation..sorry If this is true...then I'm assuming they are finally embracing Wi-Fi Direct...

    Wifi direct does power airdrop between iOS devices. They said that. I am not sure about AirPlay or the Mac bits. I would check out the feature pages to see for sure.

    When they were talking about AirDrop for iOS, they mentioned peer-to-peer wifi... so it sounds like they are dropping the same wifi network restriction...

    I agree, and the screenshot displays both items as in giving users a choice.
