Text notification twice?

Lately I have noticed that when I get a text it makes the sound and if I don't read it right away about a minute later it will make my text sound again? My wife noticed it on her phone as well. Is this normal?

It can be normal... Settings>> Notifications>> Messages>> Scroll to "Repeat Alert"... see what it's set to... you can go from "Never" to once, twice, 3, 5, or 10 times... pick your poison.
