I haven't heard any news that it was possible yet. Worst case is that it doesn't work. No harm in attempting it, but I'm almost certain that you won't be able to do it through iTunes. You'd have to use something like redsn0w, and it it's not possible, it won't allow the procedure to continue.

TinyUmbrella wasn't enough to re-restore the newer phones, if I remember right. You needed to use redsn0w to create a custom firmware that would allow you to restore to a firmware that was greater or equal to the one that you were currently on. Even then, you couldn't go backwards. I think A5 and above are a one-way-street.
