Universal Search

I am on the iPhone 5 with iOS 6 and was wondering if "universal search" is supposed to search and find all and every text msg. I am having problems finding a text I sent about 3 months ago that I never erased. I can find it if I go into that particular thread and repeatedly hit load earlier msgs, but not by searching through universal search. Is this normal?

Yeah I think that is how it works. Don't quote me though.

Yes, that's how it works, but make sure you have "messages" selected under "Spotlight Search."

I have "messages" selected, but it still doesn't find what I am searching for from universal search. I even typed the message word for word in universal search and it doesn't show in the results.
