Not sure if this is the right forum for my question, but it seemed to be as good as any other. My question is about networking, which I am not very knowledgable about. If I connect two devices to the mobile hotspot in my iPhone 5 are they "in the same network" and able to talk to each other through that "network"? For example if I have a Tivo streaming device and want to stream from that to my iPad they both have to be in the same network. If they are both connecting through my iPhone hotspot would that work?

No your hotspot is not strong to power it's only good for Internet and very few downloads
