Music won't play after upgrading to IOS 6

When I try to play a song I can see the play icon displayed on the top of the phone, but no music plays. If I choose a song from an album that contains many songs it continuously cycles rapidly through the songs on the screen, but still no music is actually played. Anyone else have this happening?

I'm in the same boat - iphone 4S with iOS 6 though only music that I've downloaded to the phone won't play. Music still in the cloud will play. I'm using iTunes match/iCloud. If I turn off itunes match I have the same problem - music cycles through every track on an album and won't play.

Update - what appears to be working for me - I turned off iTunes Match and deleted all the music on my phone. I then turned iTunes match back on and redownloaded music. The music would then play.

Yeah. You need to connect to iTunes and remove all your music. Then sync it all again.

I can't find where you delete your songs. Can someone explain the steps in detail? This happened to me after I updated too.
