Do Not Disturb Question
I love the Do Not Disturb feature, but I was wondering about two things. First, will it prevent the iPhone alarm from sounding? Second, will it prevent Time Tuner (a clock radio app) from sounding if it is open on the phone and it is able to stay awake? As you can see, I'm afraid that Do Not Disturb will let me oversleep.

The built in clock will ring still but third party apps would need to be updated to use the dnd api

A simple fix would be to turn DND off a minute before your alarm is set to go off. You're going to wake up anyway so you won't really need the DND feature on.

That's the way I have it set up now. Of course, I get up at 5 on weekdays and later on weekends.

I gotta to tell you that I'm really disappointed we can' t silence emails.
I need to leave my phone on for emergencies but those bloody emails come through at night and it's annoying.
Good Luck

I just tested it. No email audible alerts for me. Keep in mind that I have emails turned off for the lock screen all the time.

I really wish there was an easier/faster way to turn it on and off. A toggle in notification center like they have in mountain lion would be nice.

Can somebody please confirm that the ONLY sound allowed through when DoNotDisturb is configured and turned on is a phone ring? No mail and NO SMS?
If it also silences even SMS from a "Favorite" (for example) if so configured, that is a deal breaker for me. I work for a County Fire Dept. where a great deal of our alerting is done via SMS, but I do not want SMS messages from just anybody, only the Dept.
If this is a fact, I just gotta ask, (don't skewer me) BlackBerry has had for years the ability to set profiles and what you wanted to get, Ring Tones, Mail, Messages. all of it, some of it, from whom, etc. It can not be that hard - why can't Apple figure it out?! - 09-19-2012, 10:53 PM #25
