I'll take a stab at it anyway... I think it is being suggested that an app that uses dark colors will consume less battery than bright colors. I highly doubt that would make more than a few scant millivolts in battery drain rate.

In a way, its a legit question. Black pixels take less energy to power than white pixels. Although, I don't believe it to be the case, as it seems more like a design change than a technical change.

A drain rate difference in a few millivolts can be physically measured, but will be imperceptible to the end user.
