Going to stick to 5.1 in hopes of a jailbreak being released by pod2g. He stated on twitter that he got the iPhone 4 untethered on 5.1 so I'm gonna wait it out.

Will update both 4S's and both new iPads tonight. Doesn't look like anything to get excited about. Don't have any of the issues from the change log. Had a few other issues that I hoped would have been addressed.

Yes, I was indeed bored and reading from my Nook Simple Touch when I glanced at the forums and saw Rene's post.

Bug fixes that don't fix the battery life and wifi isn't for me, kind of a wasted incremental update. I'm going to wait and let other people be my fail tester

For people who don't JB, there is no reason not to update.

I updated both my iPad 2 and iPhone 4S early this afternoon after seeing the Engadget news.

    Took about ten minutes.

Wi-Fi performance is still shaky for me. Using the latest firmware for my AEBS (7.6.1) and 5.1.1 (as well as 5.1), I rarely get my usual download speeds of 25 Mbps (ping times used to be around 15 ms). It hovers between 3-7 mbps down with ping times between 30-35 ms. Upload speeds remain the same with no issues. Annoying.

They did make a minor update to the baseband, so I'll check throughout the next few days if the random dropped "4G" (yeah right) data connection is fixed. I know it's a DNS issue as wireshark has proven when checking the baseband logs, but let's see if the minor bump fixed it.
