Email not sync'd with notifications?

I just noticed this. I had email and went into the email app. Read them. Deleted a few. The. Checked the notifications and saw them still there. I tapped on one that I had deleted and it brought up a blank email window, crashed. I opened the email app and the 2 I had deleted came back?!!! So I deleted again and had to go into the notifications and clear them. Anyone else see this happen?

I've had the notification and badges linger, but never had the emails return.
