No Microphone on the IOS5 Keyboard

I've been waiting for the microphone addition to the IOS keyboard. It was suppose to be updated with IOS5. It's not there!

Maybe, its just an iPhone 4S feature? I thought it would come to an iPhone 4 and other devices too.

I believe that's a SIRI thing, and will be on the iPhone4S...

What a let down. It is only a microphone. Why would that require the A5 dual core chip?

Just a guess, but SIRI is the voice understanding part as well...so ipso-facto...therefore not included.

The way I understood it, dictation takes place in the cloud, not on the phone (like Dragon Dictation), so the dual core ship and Siri would not be needed. I thought this would be available for iPhone 4 as well.

This feature will eventually come to your devices.

The microphone is a part of Siri. Just assume that whoever is looking forward to having a lot of voice features on their iPhone 4, iPads, and iPod Touches will be disappointed. iOS 5 is packed with other features, so this is definitely no reason to hate it. Anyone who's followed the boards over the last few days would know Siri is 4S-specific, and that while part of it may be a marketing strategy, I guarantee part of it has to do with processor power.

I do believe other devices will have some kind of voice recognition software, but it probably won't be close to what Siri is.

The microphone on the keyboard is only present in the 4S and 3rd gen iPad (Voice Dictation).
