Error Message After Backing up Phone??

so i begin to update my phone and right after the new software is downloaded and itunes is "backing up my phone" it says "an error had occured"? is this me or are the servers backed up??? help!!!!!! haha

You could try downloading the iOS 5 update on a different computer or just not backing it up in the first place.

so how does this effect the process if it keeps on failing on me? do you think it is the servers problem?

It has to be since a lot of people are experiencing problems. This is pissing me off.
