I was just wondering if anyone has installed iOS 5 on an iPad 1. Does it run fast? New features work well? I know most are just downloading it now but after you do, let's hear it!

They should work fine, because the iPad 1's speed is generally the same as the iPhone 4's speed. So I would think that, it should run fine. Even if it didn't than Apple wouldn't have released it.

I'm only doing my iphone4 for now. The iPad I'll keep jailbroken til a jailbreak (untethered) is released for ios5.0. Don't suppose we know how long that will be?

I downloaded it on my ipad 1 last night and lost my jailbreak but I really wanted it. It runs fine I would say a little faster. I love the all the new features. safari doesn't reload every tab now like before. Everything just works with great new features.

it runs amazing on the iPad. I'm very happy with the new mail app, and multitask gestures. They are such a killer feature.

I never have the desire to jailbreak my iPad. I see more people with jailbroken devices whining about something or other not working right than I ever have from those who don't.

To each his own, I guess.

Great news! I assumed it would run well on the iPad 1, but hearing that the new features make it a better experience is great to hear. The part about the tabs no longer re-loading every time is the best. It is the thing I like the least about my iPad.
