What kind of available ram are you guys seeing with everything closed in multi-tasker? I was getting 330-340 free all day but after ios5 GM it sets at the highest 308 and usually 290-300 mb's. I'm hoping its just me or a hard reboot will fix that issue. I'm thinking it has to do with notification center even when only a few apps are turned on. I'm a huge fan of RAM and not liking so much being taken up. What are you guys seeing?

I'm currently using iOS 4.3.5 without JB on my iPhone 4 and after a reboot with clear multi-task bar i got @ most 305 MB free [Inactive 25MB - using System Lite to get the reading].

So i'm not sure how you get upto 340 MB before... Interesting.

Hmm.. I'm not seeing any memory drops. I have 5.0 GM installed, and jailbroke w/ redsn0w. Still around 350 with everything closed.

On my 3GS after a respring and "freeing memory" a few times using OmniStat I got up to almost 100MB of free RAM. Prior to 5.0GM, I was on 4.1 and could get 140MB free. I don't mind too much because the iOS in general seems much faster and my apps load and operate much faster as well. Even if it does take up more resources it seems to for a reason with my 3GS.

It will be interesting though once I start loading more cydia apps on to it. Right now I just have the BiteSMS beta installed from cydia and OmniStat. So far I am happy with the performance.

does that mean since IOS 5 uses more resources, that running on older devices, it may drain the battery more quickly?

I've been on IOS5 GM for 3 or 4 days and honestly don't see a battery drain. Seems equal to 4.3.3 to 4.3.5. I do think its using more sources. But on a reboot or respring the phone does open up more RAM than just closing out all apps. But the RAM quickly drops to low 300's to high 290's.
