how's your iOS 5 battery life?
i can definitely tell a difference in the GM version vs beta 7
i have a routine every morning and so far i am 10% better than usual - 10-05-2011, 10:09 AM #2
I don't like it so far. Usually I lost about 10% per hour of usage. Now I lose about 13%. No bueno. For me, beta 5 was the top dog in battery life.

Yes you will. GM is not available via OTA. Just like 5.1 won't be OTA, nor 5.2. However updates between those versions will be OTA.

My battery life is not as good as B7. I think that for me, B6 was the best, and B7 was very close, but GM is not as good.

Mine is terrible I dont know why. I was down to 44% this morning after 4.5 of standby and hardly any use.... I think I may reinstall it and see what happens.

I didn't use any of the beta version of iOS 5, but I installed the GM yesterday. It seems like it's iCloud that is draining the battery. I had a 100% charge this morning and then by lunch time I was down to 68%.
Did things as I would usually do - checked FB, WWF and Twitter on the john in the morning, texted a few people over the first part of the day. Never has it drained this much.
After lunch I deleted my iCloud account and things were running much more smooth. I charged it until about 12:30 and now it's 3:39 and my battery reads 97%. I think iCloud is the real battery suck. I wonder if they will have improvements in the newer updates for this.
As far as I'm concerned I don't need iCloud.

As far as beta-->GM, I'm experiencing roughly the same battery life.

Battery life seems the same for me. I don't see a difference at all.

it seems as though a beta or a hacked OS, will have some bugs that will lower your battery.
IMO, you should go back to 4.3.5 and wait until October 12th then do the official upgrade. - 10-06-2011, 05:07 PM #20 iPhone 5 (Black.32GB.AT&T) iPad Mini (Black.32GB.WiFi) iPad (3Gen.Black.64GB.AT&T) MacBook Pro (15" 2012.Retina Display.i7) iMac (21.5" 2011.i5) AppleTV (3Gen)

Really glad I stumbled upon this thread, as battery life will honestly be my biggest concern going in to this OS. I'm a rather light user though so it shouldn't be much of a problem.
