My Phone Is Following My Every Move?

So, I just clocked on the Health app and now I see all this data for my as far as steps, miles walked, flights climmbed. Now, I never enabled this app to track me. I looked in provacy and it doesn't really show anything giving this app permission to do so.

So, how does it know what I am doing and where I am going and what I am climbing? Is this somehow being done in the background and is this to assume that location services is constantly on or is it a vibration thing?

What gives, this is freaky.

It has a dedicated chip that tracks your movement and as far as I can remember, those data stays in there and apps don't have access to it unless you give it permission.

Indeed, those are not location data, merely steps and stairs.

Thanks. So anyone can recommend apps to fill some of that data in? Seems very rudimentary what it tracks without additional apps.

I'm using MyFitnessPal to log my food and it's nutrients and Runtastic to log my activities and workouts.

I have runkeeper but am open to options. I can no longer log other workouts in it like cross fit or treadmill runs. I hate that ability being gone.

I like Strava. But since getting the Apple Watch have been using the workout app.
