So far so good. No issues to report. The portrait photo mode it pretty neat and I am sure it will improve as the betas progress.

Looks like they're trying to "fix" message effects with reduce motion. I can do this but still can't send or view. Anyone else?

I can't send or view with this setting as well? It may have something to do with the built in auto-play messages. For example, if someone sends you a 'Happy Birthday' you will automatically get a screen full of balloons without the sender actually selecting the balloon screen? Not sure but will have to test.

There is also a beta feature for visual voicemail. It transcribes the message so you can read it instead of listening to it. Worked well and everything was correct for me.

That's been around for a while and is available on iOS 10 now.

Could be! Based on what I've read on twitter (search reduce motion) not many people are happy about this feature being tied together.

I don't understand why it has to be off in order to get the iMessage features. All of the iMessage features worked just fine in the Beta's up until like beta 5 and Apple decided to make "Reduce Motion>Off" the only way to get the iMessage effects. To me it just seems like they want people using the zoom feature for whatever reason.

Not sure. I'm hoping they change it back. Maybe they had people complain about motion \_(ツ)_/

Did I miss this in an old beta or is it new to 10.1? I noticed that turning the volume down by using the button will no longer go to silent mode. It will remain at one volume bar.

    It's you, not me
But it goes straight to mute if you go volume down to the end.

Hmm, maybe this is part of my volume bug then.

My keyboard sounds have always been low. They were louder on my 6s plus. At 4 bars volume level, I could hear the clicks and delete sounds. Can't hear it on my 7 plus unless I hold it up to my ear. All other system sounds are loud though. Volume bar only goes down to 1, not mute - 10.1 beta.

Can anyone report if Bluetooth is any better in 10.1? Mine is really spotty on 10.0 and takes a while to connect and sometimes won't connect.

I'm not sure how to answer that question, especially being that Bluetooth has always worked well on my devices whether running iOS 10 and earlier or the current iOS 10.1 beta 1. It connects instantly when I get in my car. I've yet to test with with my Vizio soundbar or my Bluetooth headset, but I suspect the results will be what they've always been.

I'm kind of scared to run this beta on my 7 plus. I'll see in a few weeks the feedback on batterylife

It should be official in a few weeks. This isn't a major iOS update. And yes it includes the Portrait (bokeh) mode for iPhone 7 Plus camera that Apple said would be released in October.

Wait so 7 Plus users can only use the camera while holding the phone horizontally?
No, they can use it vertically, in Portrait Mode vs Landscape Mode. The Portrait Mode update refers to digitally creating the equivalent of a shallow depth of field so that the subject is in sharp focus and the surrounding area is not. The reduced focus or blur lets the subject stand out.

    10.0.1 feels a lot like a ".0" release
The main purpose of 10.0.01 was to correct the OTA updating hangups that some people were getting in the first hour of the Official release. The first update to most any new OS is seldom a .x update but more often a .0.x update.

.0.2 worked fine for me but I have no idea what difference it made. These are usually bug or security fixes.

10.0.1 was what was released, which caught some by surprise. Beta had it a few days before the official release. There wasn't a 10.0 official release.

I have the same problem. If I try to go to silent it will leave 1 bar; so now what?
