In iOS 9, there was a great feature which placed an app icon (or app bar in multitasking) on the bottom of the screen when you turned on a bluetooth speaker, got in the car, plugged in headphones, or arrived at a specific location. It was predictive, so when I turned on one BT speaker, it always prompted me to open Pandora, while when I plugged in headphones, it prompted to open Amazon Music.
