    Not too happy... I started the update and fell asleep. I now awoke to bring prompted to connect to iTunes. I DO NOT USE A DESKTOP ANYMORE. What do I do??

    Is everyone keeping their phone plugged into power when doing the update?...wondering if folks plugged into power are having this issue as well!....

    Interesting...I would think then a corrupted download or something since servers are getting hammered...

    I should have known better - I'm an enterprise sys admin.

    With full backup, cleanup, and restart it still failed. Two 9.3.5 download attempts have failed, third going slower. I need a polite but strong way to say not happy.

    My 6s dos the same had to connect to iTunes and update back to 9.3.5 and it works now but not planning to update to iOS 10 until at the earliest tomorrow afternoon

    My iPad Air 2 updated perfectly, but my iPhone 6s Plus didn't. I have it back to normal after connecting it to my MacBook.

    Backed mine up before install and was running 9.3.5 for awhile... and...bricked! Restored phone and works fine. I will wait awhile until they figure out what the problem is with OTA updates. I did try again after reinstall, but received a message saying they " unable to connect to iTunes"?

    Very cute, but since the other user already downloaded and installed iOS 9.5.3 and then 10 I could chalk it up to old mac, old itunes version, bad connection, multiple computers and devices on my internet, xfinity having a slowdown....soooooooooo i'm not sure what the problem is.

    After restore to 9.3.5 and the first error, I tried again with my iPhone 6S Plus and it worked great.

    Had the same issue with my 6s and iPad Pro 9.7". Ran update through iTunes, both are back up and running. Interesting though that iTunes updates to 10.0.1. I'm wondering if OTA is a 10.0 and is the issue.

    quick question: i have never used itunes to back up. When i plug into itunes with the update finish? will it erase my phone?

    can i then back up from icloud?

    "We experienced a brief issue with the software update process, affecting a small number of users during the first hour of availability. The problem was quickly resolved and we apologize to those customers. Anyone who was affected should connect to iTunes to complete the update or contact AppleCare for help.

    Looking on 9to5Mac.com, Apple released a statement that said the supposed issues causing the bricking has been fixed.

    If they really fixed it, I dunno.

    Bricked = phone being dead, unable to use and/or turn on.. What you have is a failed iOS installation, not a brick. Your phone can and most likely will recover with a drop of time / effort. Bricked = Need a new phone, or you now have a fancy paperweight.

    i'm trying to download again, my problem now is that the app store wont connect on my mac to allow me to download the latest version of itunes. FML

    I dont think its the truth that is seen as aggressive, its the fact that as we all well know, until this actually happens to you, you dont need someone playing semantics with words. What did the post actually solve?
