You can easily get on the public beta 5. It's the same as the dev beta.

Did you try Reset All Settings on iOS 10?
It won't remove it all. But it puts it back to normal like in iOS 9.

There's going to be some darkening. You can't remove it all. Try a darker wallpaper. Make the wallpaper black under the dock at the bottom. That helps.

Installed it, first reboot after installation just shut the phone down. Had to do a hard reset to start the phone back up.. checking it out now.
