The company is supposedly already in preliminary talks with possible distributors in the country, with the primary obstacle being the economic sanctions imposed on Iran due to its nuclear program. Apple is said to be discussing the possibility of selling the iPhone through local retailers, instead of Apple selling in the country directly, according to the Wall Street Journal:
