After being inducted into the Alabama Academy of Honor, Apple CEO Tim Cook is pushing his home state to do more for equality and be inclusive where L.G.B.T. rights are concerned. Noting that Alabama was "too slow" to guarantee equality rights in the 1960s, the Apple CEO said that Alabama only removed a ban on interracial marriage in the state Constitution 14 years ago, and that it could be more progressive when it comes to the rights of people based on gender identity and sexual orientation today.
