Australian hacker utilizes Apple's Find My Phone to lock and hold devices for ransom

Owners of iPhones and iPads in Australia received some rather bizarre alrts, detailing the seizure of their Apple hardware by a hacker who has utilized the Find My Phone feature to remotely lock said devices. A message was sent to the locked products reading "Device hacked by Oleg Pliss" and the hacker demanded a ransom for it to be unlocked. Some of those affected have been able to unlock their devices while others are seeking help from Apple directly to regain access to their devices.
