iMessage activation

I had to create an Apple ID for my personnal phone but iMessage and Facetime seem stuck on: Waiting for activation...

It's been about two hours and I restarted my phone without success.

Anyone knows a solution before I contact Apple?

Disable wifi, disable FaceTime and iMessage, restart your phone and enable FaceTime and iCloud again.
Make sure you have cellular data enabled.
Once FaceTime and iMessage is activated you can enable wifi again.

Yes. I don't know the exact reason, but it is required.

Thanks for the link! I saw this: It might take up to 24 hours to activate iMessage and FaceTime.

So I'll let it do its things and check on it tomorrow.

Thank you for that! It's been escalated since they don't know what's wrong (blaming my carrier).

To activate iMessage your iPhone is sending a text message to Apples activation service. If somehow that text message is blocked from sending, you will not be able to use iMessage with your number.

Please inform with your carrier if this is the case.

I informed my carrier and they say it's A-1 on their side and I know for a fact that they support iPhones.

But it's resolved!! Go figure why... I did a factory reset and it worked; woot!!

That seems unusual! I never had such an issue as iMessage activation always was instantaneous on my side.
