How do I automatically switch from iMessage to text message if i don't have a connection?

how to set automatically switch from imessage to text message if i dont have connection?

I choose an option send a sms but my phone doesnt do this. It still send as i message and after 1 min tells me it isnt send. So what should i do if i dont have connection???

tap the imessage and select send as text, after a couple times of doing this it will default to a text untill imessage is available again..
or in settings you can select send a sms when imessage is not available and it will do it automatic

Welcome to iMore! If you enable the "Send as SMS" function in Settings > Messages, your messages will still send through iMessage unless the other user isn't using iMessage or if your data connection is inadequate. If you prefer all messages to send as SMS, turn off iMessage in Settings > Messages.
