iMessage group contact

I just wanted to know if you make a group contact and is in a conversation.. Is there any possible way to add more ppl in the group contact? Because I tried and I couldn't find anyway to add more ppl in a group contact I created and was in a conversation in

Although you can create group contacts, I don't think you can select that particular contact group to iMessage with. I mean, you cannot add the group as a single entity in the recipient/To field in the iMessage app.
