    Default How to text iMessage through a different device.

    Is there any way to send a message to someone who uses iMessage from a device other than an iphone? (i.e. Sending a message from a computer, or from an app for an Android phone)

    Default How to text iMessage through a different device.

    You can send an "iMessage" in the following ways:

    From an iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch with iOS 5 or later and from a Mac with OS X Mountain Lion as long as the same Apple ID/registered home number is used on ALL of your devices.

    You can send an "SMS" message from your iPhone, iPad with 3G/LTE and any other phone you may have as long as the device is activated.

    You cannot send an "iMessage" from a non-Apple device.
