iMessage randomly turning off

I'm running stock iOS 5.01 on my iPhone 4 and iPad 2. For some reason, iMessage on my iPhone seems to randomly turning itself off. iMessage remains running on the iPad with no problem. Is this a regular problem or is it just me?

On the iPhone, turn iMessage off, restart the phone, and then turn it on. Now monitor it to see if it stays on...
