Need help with iMac assigned message tones for contacts.

Hi guys! My iMac running latest version of El Capitan will not play the assigned message tones for my contacts. Instead it plays a single default tone for all messages. My iPhone and iPad play proper tones for all my contacts but for some reason my iMac will only play assigned ringtones and reverts to the default message tone for messages. Is there a fix for this? My iCloud is synced up with all 3 devices, makes no sense.

I honestly do not know. I mean, I rarely use my MacBook for texting purposes, and during the times I do, I do not tinker with the the message settings. Anyway, I hope someone who can answer your question will reply soon. Take care...
