My Mac keeps reverting back to the Mail screen when I'm working in Safari. Why is it doing this?

My Mac keeps reverting back to Mail screen when I'm working in Safari.

For the past week, my Mac has developed an irritating habit. While I'm in Safari, it tosses me back to Mail. It takes two Command Tabs to get me back to Safari and then it happens again in less than a minute. Driving me crazy. I don't think I changed any settings.........anyone have any advice?

Are you inadvertently using shortcut keys while using Safari?
