Traveling, how can I change the speed of things with the mouse?

Currently, I'm testing this iMac 27". But, I feel like I'm traveling a lot with the mouse.
Maybe there is a setting or something that I need to change?


I did change the speed in the settings. But...

Moving to the corners of the monitor, and such. Maybe the mouse is simply 'too small' for my large hands. And, I'm simply not used to it.

I can't stand the mouse. I've since connected my Logitech Wave keyboard and mouse, and it works.
Thank goodness for that.

I must say, this iMac seems slower than my MacBook Pro! It must be the hard drive causing that, surely.
My MacBook has a 128GB SSD, where as the iMac is a 1TB SATA; not even Fusion. But, the processor is a 3.2 GHz, i5. So, I don't get it...
