iMac 27" 1080p vs the 5K for photography
I'm a photographer and I was just at Best Buy and compared "side by side" the 27" iMac 1080p and the 5K. I did see a little difference in image quality (comparing the same images), but not $500 more of image quality. In my opinion if I calibrate the 1080p with ex: Color Munki, I'm sure the image quality would be equal if not better and then spend $200 on the 16G Ram upgrade. I would still be money ahead with a more powerful machine to run Photoshop and Lightroom 6. Monitors do not really matter when you use a print lab. You need to build a relationship with that lab, to have consistency. If you are web driven, then I would say monitors are important. However I use a lab and my images are printed. I'm looking for a great machine to edit photos. I hope this helps. Does anyone have an opinion on this?
