How to clear photos off IPhone without deleting from iCloud.

I have 200gb iCloud storage which has about 100gb of photos in it. I have my iPhone set to only save small versions of each photo. But my iPhone is small and is full. How do I get more room on my iPhone without removing photos from iCloud?

You could do some cleanup of apps that you rarely use.

It's a tricky situation if you delete on device and then back up I'm assuming you will lose them in the cloud

Best case is use one drive as a photo backup

Box and Dropbox are great for storing photos. I don't use iCloud Photo Library. I don't like how it's set up.
