Odd, I can send emails from my @icloud.com and @me.com email account and they get delivered. But, if I send an email TO my @icloud.com or my @me.com accounts they fail instantly.

Anyone else?

On which device or computer are you trying to send this email? Because it seems very odd that the message you are getting is "this gmail user doesn't exist"

Exactly. Login to your gmail account via a computer and then send a test message to your @me or @icloud.com account. If you did, login to a different account like Yahoo, Windows Live, AOL or an ISP account and send a test message.

Well spotted Karen. A VERY long time ago I had my @me.com and @icloud.com email accounts forwarding to an OLD GMail address. But I just checked my forwarding options and it is not on.

So I'll force it on, save it and then turn it off and test it again. Albeit still weird.

Thanks.

Thanks to Karen, I've figured it out...

It seems that Apple\Mobile ME\iCloud had my forwarding on still to my old Gmail address. I set this up years, and years ago. After all the changes to iCloud, etc. it was still on 'somewhere'.
I turned forwarding on to my current Gmail account, and after a few minutes I turned it off. After doing this, email via @icloud.com and @me.com both work fine for sending and receiving.

Rather weird, but well spotted by Karen (the error message).

For those that only use @icloud.com or @me.com email addresses, what happens if you happen to switch to another OS, i.e. BlackBerry or Android? Only email would work, right, i.e. no Calendar or Contacts?
