Sonos to have Alexa-like functionality?

Sonos CEO John MacFarlane mentioned on The Verge that the company has a strategy to have Sonos have Amazon Echo-like functionality. What are your thoughts on this? Would you use it if Sonos had this in place? Or, should they be focusing on their existing functionality as they are facing layoffs?

At the moment, I don't have a need for a Sonos, but having said that, I'd prefer the company focus on improving existing functionality while keeping in place their future-based plans and development....

I think that'd be bloody awesome. My Sonos system is already in place, so if they do go that route and offer it as a software update... install the update, and just like that, done!

Honestly not sure how much I'd use it (I don't have an Echo), but could see it coming in handy for sure.

If for NOTHING else voice controlled functionality would be handy. "Sonos, turn it down a bit" "Sonos play the next track" "Sonos play soft jazz" etc
