So you are trying to backup your iPad/iPhone, and iCloud is telling you that you don't have the room. Let's see if we can find a fix for this.

First, open up the "settings" on your device.
The next step is to go to your iCloud icon in the settings menu and click on it.

Scroll down to the bottom and click on "storage and backup".

Next, click on "manage storage" to see what is taking up the space you desperately need.

In this window, you will see what devices you have using your iCloud storage. For me, I have John's Work iPhone and John's Work iPhone (This iPhone) which is my current phone I'm using. So my next step, because I don't need a backup of my old iPhone, is I'm going to delete it. All you need to do is click on the grey arrow to the right of the phone.

This brings up a new window for your old backup, "John's Work iPhone". All you have to do now is click on "Delete Backup" and you just cleared up some space. Just be careful, and make sure you are clicking on the correct file because once you delete this you can't bring it back. So have at it, and clear up some much needed space in your iCloud account.
