I have been receiving emails twice in notification center from my gmail account on my iPhone 4S. It only happens on my 4S but has no problems on my iPad 2. Has anyone else had this problem?

It could be because of reported issues with Gmail today that appear to have been resolved.

It had been happening for the past week or so, I guess it just got resolved with whatever Google is doing to fix the gmail issues.

Apparently this is a known bug with some users (like me).

I actually started a thread somewhere trying to resolve this but with no success.
Then I read (don't remember where) that is bug but doesn't affect every user.

I get duplicate notifications of gmail on my iPad 2 but it is not an issue on my iPhone 4S.

Good Luck

I got duplicate notifications whenever I synced up the All Mail folder in addition to the Inbox. Took off the sync to All Mail, and no more double notifications.

Tks for the info guys.
I assume by re add my account you mean delete my gmail account from my iPad 2 then add it back. Right?
TIA

Do you have gmail setup as exchange? Do you have multiple folders in gmail set to push? I would set just the "inbox" to push and not "all mail". You probably are getting a notification from both the Inbox and All Folders".

No just inbox. I'm using exchange.

Have you tried a cancel & hard reset?

-Settings
-Notifications
-Disable notifications in the lock screen for both email and iMessages
-Hard reset your phone (hold Home & Sleep button until iPhone turns off).
-Re-enable your notifications

No I haven't. I'm gonna try the delete gmail account route and see if that works.

Anyway Tks for the interest Sherlick.
