problem syncing google calendars

Excuse me if this is a stupid question as I have only had my iphone for 3 days (and LOVING it!!). I am having trouble syncing multiple google calendars. I set everything up, including adding an exchange account, using my gmail addy (on the phone). When I add events via phone, it will sync to the calendar but the cal options on my phone do not show the multiple calendars on my G account. I also keep getting an error message when it asks for my exchange account password. I do not have a separate exchange account/email. Is that the problem? Any help would be appreciated as I need my cals!!!!!

Remove your gmail account from your phone. Set up exchange account and input your gmail info as instructed on the Google website.

Thank you for the response. Does this mean that I do not even set up a separate gmail account on the phone? Contacts, calendar all run through and sync through the exchange account on the phone?

Alli,
I have a new iPad2 and have yet set up the email.
So I assume I do the same as you indicated above:
First go to google to get the info and then begin the email setup on the iPad2 with that info.

Instead of setting it up as a Gmail account, set it up as an Exchange account and you'll be good to go.

Ok Alli,

At the risk of sounding really dumb

, am I gonna set it up as an Exchange account when prompted on my iPad or is this something I do on the Google side.

You see I'm anticipating this because I can't get into the actual email set up on the iPad2 until Christmas Day. This iPad2 is a gift for my wife and obviously can't mess with her email until then.

Lucky wife! First you'll want to go into the Gmail account from a desktop and make sure Exchange is enabled. Then when you go into mail accounts on the iPad and add an account, you'll want to add an Exchange account.

I've tried the exchange solution and for some reason my secondary google calendars still won't sync. This is an issue with my iPhone 4S and third gen iPod touch both running iOS 5.0.1.

Go here from safari on your iPhone

Then select your device and what calendars to sync

If you ever get pop ups about your password from google after being setup as exchange do a google search on how to disable capcha this is done on a comp
